Solana Beach Homes
The area known as Solana Beach remained largely uninhabited until 1908 when the first ranches were built in the area; by the 1920’s the area began to steadily develop. However, it wasn’t until 1986 that the City of Solana Beach California was actually incorporated. Over the years many artisans, well-known professionals and persons of interest have called Solana Beach home.
Solana Beach homes sit atop a rocky coastline that offers great surfing year-round, tide-pools and snorkeling. Sections of town such as the upscale Cedros Design District boast the prevalence of the artistic influences of the area, while also offering a unique mixture of shopping, boutiques, dining and art galleries, day spas, salons, yoga studios and distinctive home furnishing stores. Find organic produce and freshly baked bread at the Cedros Avenue Farmer’s Market which is held weekly, and enjoy annual events such as Concerts at The Cove, and Beach Blanket Movie Night. Take a balloon ride in a European style, high-sided hot air balloon and watch the sun set over the gorgeous Southern California coast.
Water activities are prevalent all over this tranquil coastal town: go surfing, surf-fishing, body-boarding, swimming, snorkeling, and scuba-diving. Fletcher Cove is the beach closest to the Solana Beach train station. Tide Beach Park is known for its large reef, or “table-tops”, and its tide pools with a variety of sea creatures. Seascape Surf, or Cherry Hill as locals call it, has wide, sandy beaches which are great for walking, jogging and throwing a Frisbee around. Del Mar Shores has a beach park which offers fantastic scenic views over the bluffs.
While encompassing a healthy economy including many high-tech businesses, as well as outdoor spaces such as San Dieguito Park with over 125 acres of recreational space, homes in Solana Beach offer locals the beauty of the ocean with the convenience of a medium sized city-center. Solana Beach real estate comes in a wide array of styles, from ultra-modern gems with distinctive landscaping and plenty of ocean views, to single family craftsman style homes with plenty of room for a family to grow in, to very unique artistic Solana Beach homes for sale with detached guest quarters, to ocean front Solana Beach condos with panoramic views that sit close to local hotspots.
